Position Hours: FULLTIME 1st Shift 9:00 AM – 5PM (Monday – Friday)

Position Wage: Starting at $21 per hour (plus based on experience)

Job Description:
The Equipment Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that all internal thermoprocessing, monitoring, and measuring equipment achieve and sustain the highest quality possible. Our mission serves all internal customers of Thermtech by providing this equipment on time, while also containing and eliminating interruptions when they occur. With this mission fulfilled, all internal customers will be empowered in their own respective missions to deliver a perfect product to their customers.

Position Objective: Perform designated duties in concert with achieving and sustaining the department mission. Position reports to the Equipment Quality Manager

Job Duties:
  • Pyrometry Equipment Calibration and Testing
o Perform a wide variety of regular tests and calibrations for various pieces of equipment. These include quench sample collection and shipments, furnace atmosphere testing, polymer and other fluid testing, gauge verification/calibrations, and similar duties.
o Generate accurate documentation of calibration and testing within a designated timeframe.
o Report out-of-tolerance conditions and perform adjustments where appropriate.

  • Maintenance and TPM Activities
o Perform general maintenance and quality testing on a variety of industrial equipment per procedures and/or maintenance order instructions.

  • Serving Internal Customer
o Develop positive and effective working relationships with other ThermTech employees by acting as a liaison and representative of the Quality
Department
o Assist other coworkers with equipment issues, quality issues, or similar problems that may arise during their shift that are related to the above duties.

  • 6S Implementation
o Assist in development and design of continual improvement through the 6S program.
o Primarily focus on the “Shine”, “Standardize”, “Sustain”, and “Safety” elements of 6S
    • Miscellaneous Duties
    o Perform any other duties as assigned

    • Cross Training
    o Cross training into a similar job function (Equipment Quality Specialist – Pyrometry) will be expected as the primary basis for advancement.
    Minimum Requirements:
    All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test & background check.

    Education: High school education or equivalent preferred

    Experience:
    • 1+ years prior heat-treating or machine calibration experience preferred.
    • Experience in general equipment maintenance or repair desirable, but not required.
    • Experience in complying to industry specifications (AMS 2750, ASTM E18/E10, NADCAP, CQI-9) highly desirable, but not required.

    Travel: This position does not require travel away from ThermTech premises. This position does require travel between three ThermTech facilities (~7 miles apart). This travel cost is reimbursed when employee’s vehicle is used.
