Position Location: 1511 Pearl Street, Waukesha, WI 53189

Position Hours: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Monday - Friday

Position Wage: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

Salaries are based on a number of factors, including the skills and experience of the candidates. It is common to be hired at the lower to middle end of a salary range and while it is possible to be hired at the higher end, it often requires unique circumstances, such as proven expertise.

Job Description:

Summary: Responsibilities will include working in several different production area and being adaptable t fulfill the needs of fellow team members. Inspecting equipment throughout the shop and promptly reporting any concerns to the shift foreman will be crucial.

Job Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Load Set Up
  • Arrange fresh customer product for the operator to build into furnace loads
  • Set up the correct basket to perform racking and load set up
  • Retrieve the correct fixture that the operator needs to set up a load
Load Staging
  • Arrange racking and loaded baskets on staging racks in preparation for furnace loading
Furnace Loading / Unloading
  • Load and unload racked and loaded baskets into furnaces at the direction of the furnace operator
Load Staging at Intermediate Processing
  • Arrange racked and loaded baskets on staging racks while they are waiting for additional processing (straightening, blast, inspection...)
Packaging Set Up
  • Set up completed parts to be packaged into customer containers by retrieving the container
  • This may also include assisting while parts paced on skids are wrapped with plastic
Completed Parts
  • Deliver completed parts to the appropriate shipping area
Cleaning / Organization
  • Arrange empty customer containers neatly to maintain shop organization
  • Empty garbage hoppers on a daily basis
  • Drive floor sweeper through the shop to sweep garbage, scaled, debris, and other material. Contents of what was swept be emptied into garbage dumpster.
Resupplying
  • Periodically, it may be required to retrieve supplies such as quench salt and deliver to the appropriate work area. This may also include restocking bathrooms and break rooms with supplies such as toilet paper, hand towels, and other various cleaning supplies.
Forklift Maintenance
  • Material Handler is responsible for the safe operation of forklift and floor sweeper
  • Material Handler is responsible for reporting any maintenance issue with forklift and floor sweeper so that it may ret repaired.
  • Material Handler is responsible for any damage caused by his/her/their forklift or floor sweeper operation

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, a non-resident, authorized to work in the U.S. without ThermTech sponsorship). ThermTech does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.
  • This position must satisfy ITAR (DSP-5) compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be a lawful permanent resident [8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20)] or a protected individual [8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)]. Employment of Foreign Persons(s) [22 CFR 120.63] will be contingent on receiving the DSP-5 license from the US State Department.
  • All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test & background check.
  • Class B license required
  • Ability to drive 8, 10, 13, or 18 speed manual transmissions required.
  • May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification

Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of but are not limited to the following:

  • Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods in a non-climate controlled industrial environment
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying at least 25-pound objects throughout shift
  • Must be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to perform fundamental mathematical skills and concepts (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, and the basics of algebra and geometry).
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred


Experience: Prior factory work or Heat Treating experience preferred
