Position Hours: Primarily 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM; however, this position must ensure that production functions are maintained 24/7, potentially requiring on-call availability or coverage through shift work.
Position Wage: Salary ranges from $70,000 - $110,000.
Salaries are based on a number of factors, including the skills and experience of the candidates. It is common to be hired at the lower to middle end of a salary range and while it is possible to be hired at the higher end, it often requires unique circumstances, such as proven expertise.

Job Description:
Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for the condition of all equipment in the division, the plant's people, and the materials necessary to run the facility. Be willing and able to shift hours each quarter to be present on second and third shifts to facilitate training and team culture.
Job Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Production & On-Time Delivery (OTD)
- Ensure all equipment and areas in basic working condition; initiate corrective actions when necessary.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal departments and external customers.
- Monitor, report, and drive improvements in OTD and throughput performance metrics.
Equipment Maintenance & Operational Effectiveness- Ensure all equipment and areas in basic working condition; initiate corrective actions when necessary.
- Define startup/shutdown procedures and assign ownership for equipment upkeep and training.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Technical Directors to establish and uphold maintenance standards.
- Manage spare parts inventory and forecast needs for long lead-time and critical components.
- Use Bluestreak (ERP/MRP) system to maintain equipment records and plan maintenance activities.
Weekly Maintenance Meetings- Lead and document weekly maintenance meetings to:
Prioritize upcoming maintenance work Track Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) progress Schedule and coordinate planned downtimes. Share outcomes with upper managementMaintenance Team Leadership
- Set daily maintenance priorities and align efforts across departments as needed.
- Ensure plant maintenance staff check in daily and are included in performance reviews.
- Oversee cross-departmental use of maintenance resources in special situations.
6S Implementation & Plant Cleanliness- Define and enforce cleanliness and organizational standards for each plant area
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance shop layout and efficiency.
- Participate in weekly 6S meetings and ensure participation form others as needed.
- Address safety concerns through corrective and preventative actions and report progress during QA meetings.
- Promote and enforce workplace safety protocols and corporate training compliance.
Human Resource & Workforce Management- Ensure adequate staffing to support 24/7 operations.
- Maintain up-to-date position descriptions, organization charts, and training metrices.
- Oversee training, onboarding, and mentoring programs for new hires.
- Manage time clock accuracy and employee attendance records.
- Facilitate regular performance evaluations and communicate training gaps to the Director of Operations.
Supplies & Inventory Oversight
- Maintain stock levels of essential heat treating supplies (e.g., gases, gloves, screens, fixtures).
- Monitor and manage live inventory of alloy and related components on the floor.
- Coordinate alloy maintenance (burn-out, repair, blasting) and collaborate with Purchasing and Fabrication to replenish or repair inventory as needed.
- Partner with Technical Directory and Controller to forecast allay needs and support plant production.
Minimum Requirements:
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, a non-resident, authorized to work in the U.S. without ThermTech sponsorship). ThermTech does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.
- This position must satisfy ITAR (DSP-5) compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be a lawful permanent resident [8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20)] or a protected individual [8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)]. Employment of Foreign Persons(s) [22 CFR 120.63] will be contingent on receiving the DSP-5 license from the US State Department.
- All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test & background check.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
- May be required to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification
Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of but are not limited to the following:- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods in a non-climate controlled industrial environment
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Capable of lifting and carrying at least 25-pound objects throughout shift
- Must be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Must demonstrate the ability to perform fundamental mathematical skills and concepts (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, and the basics of algebra and geometry).
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Four year, or advanced degree in one of the following or similar fields preferred:
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Materials Engineering
- Quality Engineering
- Process Engineering
- Business/Management
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of heat treating experience preferred.
Experience in training and developing employees.
Skills:
- Proficient computer skills in Bluestreak (ERP/MRP), Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
