Position Location: 1511 Pearl Street, Waukesha, WI 53189
Position Hours: Primarily 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM; however, this position must ensure that quality control and assurance functions are maintained 247, potentially requiring on-call availability or coverage through shift work.
Position Wage: Salary ranges from $70,000 - $100,000.
Salaries are based on a number of factors, including the skills and experience of the candidates. It is common to be hired at the lower to middle end of a salary range and while it is possible to be hired at the higher end, it often requires unique circumstances, such as proven expertise.

Job Description:
Summary: The quality control manager is responsible for providing the business unit with support to manage periodic testing, non-conformance and concern management, perform management of change and retraining activities, communicate process creation and revisions at shift changes, assist in corrective action/preventative action administration, assist in auditing the business unit, create business unit specific weekly metric slides, and overall support appropriate documentation. The quality control manager makes quality a visible part of production's day-to-day activities and ensures or verifies that the requirements of ThermTech's quality management system are being met. There will be many opportunities for cross-training in quality and production duties where the knowledge will support this position and the option to assist in coverage of these duties where appropriate.
Job Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions:
Non-conformance and concern management- Review and update non-conformances and concerns daily
- Propose systemic corrections to repeat issues
- Work directly with unit leadership to assist in non-conformance product
- Referee test suspect product
- Compile and present unit quality control metrics
- Facilitate communication between departments
- Work with quality and production department members to ensure effective communication that facilitates continual improvement
Management of change- Provide management of change presentations to shift changes
- Administer management of change for quality system revisions
- Ensure appropriate documentation of Management of Change Activities
Employee Training- Assist with development of training materials to support quality outcomes
- Assist with retaining of new employees regarding quality practices
- Provide retraining to business unit production personnel regarding quality practices
- Learn tasks/skills specific tot he business unit to be able to assist in training and continual improvement of these specific tasks/skills.
Process Development- Assist with writing and launching new processes.
- Take feedback and propose changes to process development of new and existing processes
- Present new or significantly revised processes at shift changes
- Be able to write, implement, and revise work instructions.
Equipment Quality Support- Provide basic trouble shooting for hardness testers
- Provide additional support for quality assurance as required and time permits
- Participation in Weekly Maintenance Meeting
Assist with management and actualization of periodic testing programsAssist with auditing of business unit functions

Minimum Requirements:

Employment of Foreign Persons(s) [22 CFR 120.63] will be contingent on receiving the DSP-5 license from the US State Department.
- All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test & background check.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.

Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of but are not limited to the following:- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods in a non-climate controlled industrial environment
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Capable of lifting and carrying at least 25-pound objects throughout shift
- Must be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Must demonstrate the ability to perform fundamental mathematical skills and concepts (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, and the basics of algebra and geometry).
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Prefer Four year degree in one of the following or similar fields:
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Materials Engineering
- Quality Engineering
- Process Engineering
Experience: 3+ years experience in a quality role desired. Prefer experience with the following:
- Heat treating
- Hardness testing
- Quality system management
- Quality control management
- Continual Improvement
- PPAP creation
Hard Skills:
- Microsoft 365 proficiency
- Basic computer & mobile phone skills
- Safety-focused mindset
- Six sigma certification - Preferred
- Bi-lingual Spanish speaking, reading, and writing skills desired
- Minilab or other statistics software experience - Preferred
- ERP (Bluestreak) software proficiency - Preferred
